Business Description

Smith’s Engineering is a fourth generation, family-owned company that has been manufacturing and distributing high performance bakery machinery, to the bakery industry in Jamaica and Internationally for over 45 years.

 

Company History

The company, originally called Smith’s Engineering Works Limited, was founded by Victor Smith in 1962.  He was later joined by his son Rudolph (Horace) Smith.  Together both owners, with years of training and experience, transformed the company from an ordinary machine shop into one of the leading manufacturers of bread machines in Jamaica and the Caribbean.  By 1980, the company was known all across Jamaica and had gained a market share in the United States with their brand.  Providing Dough Brake machines to a number of Caribbean owned bakeries in the United States and Canada.

 

Today, the company is managed by the grandchildren of Victor Smith under the name Smith’s Engineering & Equipment.  The company still offers high quality high performance products and service to our customers in Jamaica, the Caribbean and the United States.
